We are a coalition of musicians, educators, business leaders, and civic champions united by a shared belief in the power of music to transform lives and communities. Together, we are creating a Greensboro where music careers are nurtured, supported, and celebrated—and where the music industry is recognized as a vital part of the city's economic and cultural identity.
MusicGreensboro is the first coordinated initiative dedicated to transforming Greensboro's music scene into a thriving economic and cultural force. It was created directly in response to the 2024 Greensboro Music Census, which captured the voices of over 1,250 local musicians, venues, and industry professionals. That census revealed a passionate, talented community—facing real barriers to growth, collaboration, and sustainability.
Greensboro's music ecosystem is flush with talent—but artists, venues, and music professionals need the community's collective investment to thrive.

The Emerging Artists Series uplifts rising local musical talent by offering paid, professional opportunities to perform alongside regional and national acts.
Through this initiative, selected artists receive a high-quality live performance slot, professional media assets, and targeted exposure—positioning them for long-term success in the music industry.
By investing in local artists, the program strengthens Greensboro's cultural identity and music economy.
Currently, artists are curated by the MusicGreensboro team and community partners to ensure a strong and balanced lineup. As the program grows and additional funding becomes available, we are committed to expanding access through a formal application process.
